New Belly Dance Classes
We are very pleased to announce that we have launched Belly Dance classes with Cherri Bock.
We will be starting with Belly Dance Level 1:
First time in belly dance? Then this is the class for you! This primer class is where you start; helping you better in understand the movements that create the foundation of all styles of belly dance - technique through isolations and muscular training. This class focuses on break down of basic belly dance steps so that you begin with the correct methods to 'do' any of the common movements. Adds up to a great no-impact workout however the goal of the class is learning the verbiage, proper posture & being introduced to the different facets of Middle Eastern Dance.
Classes are on Mondays at 7pm and cost R300 per month for a class each week. You can try a class for free.
New Dance Essentials Course
A new Dance Essentials course starts in October, on Friday the 7th. You can choose either the first option which includes the elegant Waltz, romantic Rumba and the fun Sokkie and Boogie, or the second option which includes the spicy Cha Cha and Salsa, the intense Tango, and the high energy Swing.
New Hip Hop Class
We have started with an awesome new Hip Hop class on Wednesdays at 6pm. The class is suitable for beginners. The team of instructors consists of Graham, David and Tristan who each bring their own style and moves to the table. Join us on Wednesday evenings for some cool moves and good music. Add fun and excitement to your mid-day break. Our lunchtime dance classes are the ideal way to stretch your legs and clear your mind while enjoying the atmosphere and music in our studio and networking/socialising.
The benefits of learning to dance are numerous, and cover mental, physical and social aspects; think on your feet, get a nice
Mentally, dancing improves pattern recognition, working memory, the ability to multi task, as well as the ability to improvise and think on your feet.
Physically, it's a pleasant light workout, that won't leave you feeling tired or sweaty, perfect for a mid-day energising activity.
Socially, dancing builds confidence, and also the ability to comfortably build connection and rapport with others.
The classes are drop in classes, suitable for beginners with no dance experience. There is no need to book.
We run the classes every day from 1pm to 2pm, and the dances covered are Salsa, Tango and Swing. We rotate partners during the class so that everyone gets a change to practice with different dancers.
