About Us


DanceCraft Studio is a collective of expert dancers in various disciplines. We are a group of dedicated instructors whose aim is to cultivate strong dance skills, to foster a warm and supportive learning environment, and to provide our students with enriching experiences through the art of dance.

We are affiliated with the SADF (South African Dance Foundation), the SADTA (South African Dance Teachers Association) and the World Dance Council.



Instructors



Colin Sylvester


Colin started training and competing in Ballroom & Latin American dancing at the age of 13. He started teaching in Johannesburg in 1995, and achieved his dance qualifications with an international franchise. Colin is an excellent dancer and choreographer. His students appreciate him for his patience and ability to make even the most complicated steps feel easy and enjoyable to learn.





Ivan Milanovic


Ivan is an SADF qualified Associate in Ballroom and Latin Dancing, as well as a Fred Astaire Qualified Dance Director. He has taught at DanceCraft Studio since it opened in 2005. He currently specialises in Salsa and West Coast Swing.









Mathew Johannes


Mathew started social dance training in 2004 and later competed in Ballroom and Latin American dancing. Ten years later and with various SADF South African national and regional titles in hand, he now shares his passion for dance with his students.







Roxanne Lategan


Roxanne is a Modern Dancer (AIDT Associate), a Ballroom and Latin American Dancer (Fred Astaire Instructor Qualification) and a qualified Physiotherapist (UCT) and Pilates (APPI) instructor. She teaches the beginner and advanced Modern class, gives private lessons in Ballroom and Latin dancing and runs the Barre Fitness class, which incorporates dancing and Pilates into a comprehensive workout.






Farren Bester

Farren started dancing as a young child and has aquired qualifications with the Classical Ballet and Modern Dance Theatre, the ISTD, and she has graduated from the Waterfront Theatre College of Performing Arts.

She has taught at the Bahrain Ballet Centre in the Middle-East. She has danced at USASA and has directed dance productions.

She has a great interest in the progress of her students. She is committed to their growth in dancework and performance. Farren describes herself as a dedicated teacher who strives to bring out the best technique and performance out of each student.




Sara Greenwood


Sara started dancing at a very young age, learning Ballet, Modern Dance, Hip Hop, and Contemporary in her primary and high school years. After Matric, Sara pursued a career in Hospitality Management, and worked in the USA from 2015-2016. Upon her return, she joined DanceCraft Studio in 2016. Sara is a certified BalletRip instructor, and teaches kids' Hip Hop at DanceCraft. She is working towards her Zumba, Pilates, and TDA Associate qualifications as she is a firm believer in dance being a great form of therapy, as well as a strong fitness and artistic platform.


The Studio


Our venue is one of the largest and most comprehensive dance facilities in the Western Cape. We have three dance floors which are buzzing with activity.

• Our Ballroom Floor, where we teach Social and Competitive Ballroom & Latin Dancing as well as Swings and Sokkie

• The Variety Floor, for dance styles such as Hip Hop, Ballet, Spanish, Contemporary and other genres.

• Our Kids Studio, where we offer diverse programs for children aged 2 to 12 years.







DanceCraft Studio is affiliated with the SADF (South African Dance Foundation), the SADTA (South African Dance Teachers Association) and the World Dance Council.



Our goal is to provide our clients with dance instruction that is best suited to their individual needs, and the large scope of our work allows us to do just that. Whatever your taste, style and personality, you're sure to find something on our dance floor that will excite and inspire you.
